Kristals Cosmetics eyes Canada for expansion

Kristals Cosmetics is gearing up to bring its luxury cosmetics and skincare brand to more Canadian consumers.

The Miami Beach-based company plans to open several new locations in Canada with a particular interest in opening storefronts in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, according to Think Retail, who is representing the retailer in the country.

To date, the company, owned by private label cosmetics manufacturer and distributor, UHI Cosmetics, operates two Kristals Cosmetics locations in the country, both in Ontario.

While Kristals can be found in high-end retailers, spas and professional treatment centres around the globe, the company credits its success to its retail stores, which are designed to host in-store product demonstrations that show clients firsthand the direct results of Kristals’ formulations.

In recent years, UHI has opened several Kristals Cosmetic stores in prominent locations across North America, Asia and Europe.

Most recently, in November, it opened a flagship store at the newly renovated guitar-shaped Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fl.

UHI introduced the Kristals Cosmetics line of skincare products in 2015.

The brand is known for “combining the healing properties of precious gemstones with the latest anti-aging technologies to provide some of the most powerful and holistic skincare products and treatments in the market to date.”

Canada has been a prominent market for new retailers for years. The infiltration of luxury retailers in notable Canadian cities like Toronto and Vancouver have been on the rise since 2015, starting with the entry of retailers like Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue.
